Original data from our phone line
What do people ask first when they call about a porta potty?
In 78 recorded customer calls we reviewed from 2025–2026, 45% of callers opened with price, 49% were planning a weekend event, 26% needed delivery the same day or the next day, and 19% asked whether the company was actually local. This page answers those four questions first, in that order.
The other patterns matter too. 60% of calls were for parties, church events, weddings and community events; 17% were construction or home remodels; 6% were emergencies such as a collapsed septic tank or a building with its water shut off. One caller in seven pushed back on price, almost always because fees showed up that nobody had mentioned. That is why every quote from us is itemized.
“Is it per day or for the whole time?”
Church event organizer
“I'm looking for someone local.”
Event caller, hung up on an out-of-area company
“Our supplier did not deliver. Is there something you can do today?”
Roofing contractor
“I just found out my septic tank has collapsed. I'm going to need a porta potty as soon as possible.”
Homeowner
“Does it come with a lock? Because it will be out in public.”
Community event planner
“We have a bathroom, but I just don't want a lot of people coming into my house.”
Backyard party host
Units
Which porta potty unit do I need?
A standard porta potty fits most Salinas jobsites and backyard parties. Add one wheelchair-accessible unit for any public event or any guest who uses a wheelchair. Choose a deluxe flushing unit or a restroom trailer when guests expect a sink and a flush toilet. A restroom trailer needs a 110-volt outlet and a garden hose.

Sizing calculator
How many porta potties do I need?
A 100-guest, 4-hour backyard party in Salinas needs 2 standard units. Add 1 unit because alcohol is served, for 3 total. Make 1 of those 3 wheelchair-accessible for any public event. A 12-person jobsite crew needs 1 unit under Cal/OSHA's 1-per-20-workers rule. Move the sliders to check your own count.
2 restroom units
Confirm this count: (831) 260-5800Method: 1 unit per 50 guests for up to 4 hours (our dispatch guideline), scaled for longer events, plus 20% (at least 1) when alcohol is served. Jobsite and farm counts follow 8 CCR §1526 and 8 CCR §3457. These are planning estimates, not legal advice — confirm with your venue or permit office.
How it works
How does a weekend party or event rental work?
Our drivers deliver Monday through Friday. For a Saturday or Sunday event, the porta potty is dropped off on Friday and picked up on Monday at no extra charge. Nobody needs to be home at drop-off: mark the spot with a cone or chalk, and the driver calls about 30 minutes before arriving.

Call or send the form
Give the ZIP, dates, guest count and where the unit goes. You get an itemized quote and a quote number on the call.
- 2
We drop it Friday
Deliveries run 7 a.m.–5 p.m. The driver calls ahead, sets the unit on level ground with the door facing away from the wind, and checks that it is stocked.
- 3
Your event runs Saturday or Sunday
The unit arrives clean, with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. A free combination lock keeps it closed until party time.
- 4
We pick it up Monday
No call needed for event rentals. Long weekends shift pickup to Tuesday.
Timing tip: Book at least 2 business days ahead. Holiday weekends and the July rodeo week fill first — callers who waited until Thursday for a holiday weekend often found every truck already booked.
Servicing
How often is a rented porta potty cleaned?
Long-term porta potties in Salinas are serviced once a week on a 28-day cycle. Each service pumps the waste tank, scrubs and sanitizes the inside, adds fresh blue deodorizer, restocks toilet paper and refills the hand sanitizer. Event units of 1–4 days arrive cleaned and fully stocked; extra mid-event service is available on request.
- Waste tank pumped and recharged with deodorizer
- Seat, walls, floor and urinal scrubbed and sanitized
- Toilet paper restocked (2 rolls per unit on jobsites)
- Hand sanitizer refilled; handwash stations refilled with water, soap and towels
- Door, latch, vent and lock checked
- Service logged by date — useful for Cal/OSHA records

Pricing, explained
What does a porta potty rental in Salinas cost?
The cost of a porta potty rental in Salinas depends on five things: the unit type, the rental length, the delivery ZIP and date, how often it is serviced and how many units you need. Your quote lists each charge on its own line before you pay, so the total you approve is the total you are charged.
| Line on your quote | What it covers | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Unit rental | The porta potty, trailer or station for the rental period | Always |
| Delivery & pickup | Truck trip out and back from our Brunken Ave yard | Always — often bundled for events |
| Servicing | Weekly pump, clean and restock | Long-term (28-day) rentals |
| Rush fee | Fitting you onto a route that is already full | Only same-day or late next-day orders |
| Sales tax | California and local sales tax | Unless you send a tax-exemption certificate |
Uses
Who rents porta potties in Salinas, and for what?

Long-term rentalLocal know-how
What should you know about placing a porta potty in Salinas?
Salinas has four local factors that change where a porta potty goes: strong afternoon wind up the Salinas Valley, wet clay soil from November to March, a city encroachment permit for any unit on a street or sidewalk, and county rules for agricultural field toilets. Each one changes placement or paperwork, not price.
Afternoon valley wind
Onshore wind funnels up the Salinas Valley most afternoons. We face doors away from the wind and stake units on open lots and fields.
Winter mud
From November to March, soaked clay soil can trap a service truck. Pick pavement, gravel or a driveway edge within about 15 feet of where the truck can park.
Street or sidewalk placement
A unit in the public right-of-way needs an encroachment permit from City of Salinas Public Works. Driveways and private lots do not.
Field toilets on farms
Monterey County Environmental Health runs an agricultural field toilet program, and Cal/OSHA §3457 sets a ¼-mile / 5-minute walk limit.
Salinas calendar: Big local events book trucks early. The California Rodeo Salinas runs in July and the California International Airshow in late summer — if your party lands on the same weekend, reserve 2 weeks ahead.

Real units
What do the units actually look like?
Every photo on this site shows real rental units and restroom trailers — not stock images. Standard units are blue, gray or pink polyethylene with a seat, urinal and sanitizer; VIP units and trailers add flush toilets, sinks, mirrors and lighting.

How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Salinas?
On recent recorded quotes, a standard event unit most often came to about $249 including delivery and pickup for a weekend, with quotes running roughly $199–$299 before tax depending on date and distance. A long-term jobsite unit ran about $185–$295 per 28-day cycle with weekly service, plus a one-time delivery and pickup charge. Your itemized quote is the final price.
Is the price per day or for the whole rental?
The price covers the whole rental period, not each day. An event rental covers drop-off before the event through pickup after it — usually Friday to Monday. A long-term rental covers 28 days with weekly service, then renews every 28 days until you call for pickup.
Can you deliver a porta potty today?
Same-day delivery is sometimes possible on weekdays when a truck has room on its route. Call (831) 260-5800 before 10 a.m. A rush fee applies and is shown on the quote before you book. Orders placed by 2:30 p.m. can usually go out the next business day.
Do you deliver on Saturday or Sunday?
No. Our drivers run Monday through Friday. For a weekend event we drop the unit on Friday and pick it up on Monday, at no extra charge. Long holiday weekends move pickup to Tuesday.
Do I need to be home when the porta potty is delivered?
No. Nobody needs to be there as long as the spot is clear. Mark it with a cone, chalk or a ribbon, leave the gate code in the order notes, and the driver calls about 30 minutes before arriving.
Can the porta potty go in my backyard?
Yes, if the path is clear. A standard unit is about 44 inches wide and fits through a normal single gate. The spot must be fairly level and within about 15 feet of where the truck can park so the service hose can reach it.
Does the porta potty come with a lock?
Yes, on request. We add a combination lock at no extra charge so the unit stays closed until your event or overnight on a public lot. You set who gets the code.
How do I stop a 28-day rental from billing again?
Call (831) 260-5800 at least 2 business days before day 28 to schedule pickup. Billing stops on the pickup date. We also text a reminder before each cycle renews.
